Passenger dies when motorcyclist collides with deer on OK 147 in Oleta

OLETA, OK – According to KOKH, a passenger died after a motorcyclist hit a deer on OK 147 NB in Oleta on Tuesday.

A 70-year-old man was riding a motorcycle north on OK 147 with a 72-year-old male passenger when he struck a deer late Tuesday night.

Rescue crews pronounced the passenger dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet during the wreck.

Authorities believe the motorcycle driver may have been impaired. He was treated and released by medics. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
