Officials release more info on deadly crash on I-35 near Wynnewood
GARVIN COUNTY, OK – Officials have provided more details concerning the fatal crash between a BMW and a semi-truck on I-35 near Wynnewood on Monday, according to KOCO.
An 18-year-old male was driving a 2016 BMW 528 at high speeds while recklessly weaving in and out of traffic before rear-ending a semi-truck around 3:17 p.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the BMW’s 17-year-old female passenger dead at the scene. They flew the BMW driver to OU Health in Oklahoma City with serious injuries. He has since been treated and released from the hospital.
The semi-truck driver was not hurt in the collision.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
