Officer hurt following crash in north OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An Oklahoma City police officer was hurt in a wreck on the John Kilpatrick Tpke near Broadway Ext on Sunday, according to KOCO.

A couch fell off of a vehicle around 7:50 p.m. An officer stopped in front of the couch with his emergency lights on to help drivers avoid colliding with it.

A truck hauling a horse trailer rear-ended the officer’s patrol vehicle, sending it to the side of that street.

Paramedics transported the officer to an area hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews closed the area down to process the scene following the collision.
