Hit-and-run driver fatally collides with woman in Johnston County
JOHNSTON COUNTY, OK – According to KTEN, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a woman at US 377 and Prairie Rd on Thursday.
Authorities found the victim’s vehicle further north on US 377. It had crashed into a fence. Officials believe the victim, a 46-year-old woman, was heading south on US 377 when she had a single-vehicle wreck where she slammed into a fence. She had left her vehicle and was walking along the roadway toward Tishomingo when a driver hit her around 4:30 a.m.
Following the collision, crews shut down the highway so authorities could investigate the incident.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol traffic homicide unit is investigating the incident.
