Driver fatally strikes concrete barrier near Dewey

DEWEY, OK  – A driver died in a single-vehicle collision at W 1500 Road and N 3988 Dr on Tuesday, according to KTUL.

A 53-year-old man was driving when he strayed off the road and slammed into a concrete barrier around 5:07 p.m. The driver was thrown from the car during the collision. The vehicle then caught on fire.

Rescue crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
