Authorities charge man with manslaughter for fatal crash in Norman
NORMAN, OK – Authorities charged a man with manslaughter for a deadly two-vehicle collision that happened at W Rock Creek Rd and 60th Ave NW on Sunday, according to KOCO.
A 22-year-old man was driving a 2017 Chevy pickup truck pulling a trailer west on W Rock Creek Rd when he ran a stop sign and collided with a southbound SUV around 12:30 p.m.
Rescue crews transported four people from the SUV to an area hospital, where the SUV driver died.
Following the collision, the 22-year-old fled the scene on foot
Authorities located the 22-year-old at Love’s Travel Stop in Norman on Sunday evening. The 22-year-old told officers about his involvement in the collision as investigators approached him.
The 22-year-old informed authorities he fled the area following the collision because he had fentanyl in his pickup truck and did not want to be caught with it.
Authorities charged the 22-year-old with leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death, first-degree manslaughter, and leaving the scene of a collision resulting in injury.
The 22-year-old’s bond was set at $! million.
