2 drivers hurt in crash while attempting to avoid street racers near Terrace Park

TULSA, OK – According to News on 6, two people were hurt in a wreck while trying to avoid street racers on Interstate 44 near Memorial Drive on Tuesday.

Officials say drivers in two vehicles were racing one another at around 11 p.m. when they encountered two other, uninvolved drivers.

While trying to drive out of the way of the street racers, the victims ended up crashing their own vehicles.

One of the victim vehicles rolled over multiple times. Rescue crews transported that driver to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver was not hurt in the collision.

Following the crashes, the street racers sped off on I-44. Authorities are working to locate the suspects.

An investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was in progress.
