10 inmates injured after driver hits prisoner transport bus on OK 33 in Payne County
PAYNE COUNTY, OK – According to News 9, ten inmates were hospitalized when a pickup truck driver collided with a prisoner transport bus on OK 33 between US 177 and OK 108 on Wednesday morning.
The pickup truck driver was trying to pass another vehicle when they collided with the front of the prisoner transport bus. The collision sent the bus crashing into a ravine.
Paramedics transported ten prisoners to local hospitals. The other 27 prisoners aboard the bus were taken to the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing.
The pickup truck driver was not hurt.
