1 dead following single-vehicle collision on E Hubbard Rd near Ponca City

PONCA CITY, OK – According to KOCO, one person is dead following a single-vehicle crash on E Hubbard Rd two miles east of Ponca City on Thursday.

A 48-year-old man was driving a pickup truck west on E Hubbard Rd when he came across a corrugated section of the road. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing him to stray off the road and crash into a ditch before slamming into a tree.

The driver and his 15-year-old passenger were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the truck.

Rescue crews transported the driver and the passenger to area hospitals, where the driver died, and the passenger was admitted in fair condition.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
