Teen hurt in crash on I-40 returns to hospital
YUKON, OK – The son of Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat, who was nearly killed in a wreck on I-40 near Garth Brooks Blvd on Jan. 5, has returned to the hospital after suffering lingering effects of the crash, according to KOCO.
The 16-year-old was driving a black Dodge Charger when a deputy pulled him over for not having a license plate.
A pickup truck driver going about 70 mph slammed into the Charger while the officer was conducting the traffic stop. The collision sent the Charger crashing into a concrete wall 100 feet away. ‘
Emergency crews extricated the teen from the wreckage and transported him to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The teen spent 20 days in the hospital and suffered a brain bleed. He returned to the hospital on Wednesday.
