Young man dies after side-by-side off-road vehicle overturns in Grant County
GRANT COUNTY, OK – A 23-year-old man lost his life early Saturday after a rollover crash involving a side-by-side off-road vehicle near Pond Creek, reports News 9.
The fatal incident occurred on a stretch of County Road 970 about four miles east of the city.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the victim was operating a 2022 Yamaha YXZ southbound on the road. At one point, for reasons still being investigated, he lost control of the vehicle, which resulted in it overturning.
The victim, who was not secured by a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
OHP continues to investigate. No other vehicles appear to have been involved and no charges have been reported.
