3-year-old girl dies following crash near Fredrick Douglas Park
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A three-year-old girl died following a wreck on I-35 near NE 10th St on Sunday, according to KFOR.
A 28-year-old man was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram south on I-35 when he fell asleep at the wheel, strayed off the road, and slammed into a concrete barrier wall around noon.
The 3-year-old girl was thrown from the car in the crash. She landed in the southbound lanes of I-35. A black Tesla driver then ran her over. The driver stopped briefly and then fled the scene.
Rescue crews transported the 3-year-old girl to an area hospital, where she died.
A 23-year-old woman, a 5-year-old, and a 1-year-old were also in the Ram. It is unclear if they were injured in the accident. Only the 1-year-old was wearing a seatbelt.
