Teen driver charged with fatal crash in Enid
ENID, OK – A 14-year-old has been charged with a deadly crash that occurred near N 4th St and E Purdue Ave on Friday, according to KOCO.
The 14-year-old, two 15-year-olds, and a 16-year-old stole a pickup truck on an access road. An officer spotted the stolen pickup around 9:28 a.m.
Officers attempted to pull over the pickup truck, but the teen sped off.
The 14-year-old ran a stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by an 85-year-old man. The 85-year-old man died in the collision.
Rescue crews transported the pickup truck occupants to an area hospital.
Authorities have charged the 14-year-old driver with unauthorized use of a vehicle and first-degree murder. The district attorney will decide if the other teens in the car will face charges.
