Driver runs over toddler near Longview Lake
TULSA, OK – A driver ran over a 2-year-old near US 169 and E 31st St on Saturday, according to KTUL.
A woman who was friends with the family had visited the home to speak with the victim’s mother. As she left, she put her kids into her GMC Traverse and backed over the 2-year-old walking into the driveway behind her.
The woman left the scene. She eventually returned and parked in a neighbor’s driveway.
She initially told officers she had not seen anything but admitted to backing over the toddler and leaving the scene when she was confronted.
Authorities arrested the woman and charged her with leaving the scene of an injury collision and driving with no driver’s license.
The toddler’s mother transported the victim to an area hospital with serious injuries. The child is expected to make a full recovery.
