Troopers investigate deadly auto vs. bicycle collision on US 69 near McAlester

PITTSBURG COUNTY, OK – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal auto vs. bicycle crash that happened on US 69 near W Chambers Rd on Tuesday, according to News on 6.

The driver of a Silverado pickup truck was heading north on US 69 when they collided with a 26-year-old man who was parked on his bike in the middle of the road around 1:05 a.m.

Rescue crews pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.

Authorities do not believe impairment was a factor in the incident.
