Officials release more details on fatal crash on I-35 near Tonkawa

TONKAWA, OK – Officials have provided additional information concerning the deadly crash that killed a construction worker on I-35 SB on Monday, according to KOKH.

A 17-year-old was driving a 2014 Dodge Avenger south on I-35 when he strayed off the road and went up the side of the bridge before colliding with three construction workers.

Rescue crews pronounced a 19-year-old construction worker dead at the scene. They flew another 19-year-old worker and a 62-year-old worker to an area hospital.

Nobody inside the Avenger was hurt.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
