Driver fatally collides with another vehicle near Shawnee

SHAWNEE, OK – A driver died following a two-vehicle collision on I-40 EB near US 177 on Tuesday, according to KOCO.

A 78-year-old woman was heading east on I-40 when she ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle around 12:30 p.m.

Rescue crews extricated the woman from her vehicle and transported her to an area hospital, where she died. Crews also transported the other driver to a local hospital in good condition.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
