Police chase ends with fatal crash in Woodward
WOODWARD, OK – According to FOX 25, a man died in a deadly police pursuit in Woodward Monday night.
Officers performed a traffic stop around 8:21 p.m. near 22nd Street and Oklahoma Avenue for a minor equipment violation.
The suspect pulled over, then sped off heading west on Oklahoma Avenue.
Officers chased the suspect at high speeds. Police performed a tactical vehicle intervention on the suspect’s vehicle near Oklahoma Avenue and Energy West Road. The collision caused the suspect’s vehicle to slam into a tree.
First responders pronounced the suspect dead at the scene.
The incident is under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Fatality Accident Squad.
1 dead in crash on US 177 in Shawnee
SHAWNEE, OK – One person died in a fatal two-vehicle collision on US 177 in Shawnee Sunday morning, according to News 9.
The two drivers collided around 1 a.m.
First responders pronounced one of the drivers dead at the scene. They transported the driver and passenger of the other car to an area hospital.
Officials have not released the victims’ names.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
DA to dismiss charges for man accused of deadly auto vs. bicycle crash in southeast Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – According to News 9, the District Attorney’s office plans to dismiss charges against a man accused of a fatal hit-and-run collision in southeast Oklahoma City on April 30, 2024.
A 40-year-old man was allegedly driving a white Hummer when he struck a 58-year-old man riding a bicycle near Southeast 15th Street and South High Avenue. The collision ejected the victim from his bike. Following the crash, the driver reportedly fled the scene.
Police found the suspect’s SUV at home near the accident scene.
Authorities charged the suspect with leaving the scene of a fatality crash and causing an accident while driving without a valid driver’s license.
The DA’s office confirmed last Thursday that they will dismiss the charges against the suspect because they “have to be able to prove to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt” that the suspect is guilty and are unable to do so
At least 1 person hurt in crash in north Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was hurt in a car accident in north Oklahoma City Tuesday afternoon, according to the Response and Accident Tracker.
The incident occurred around 12:05 p.m.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
Paramedics respond to injury accident on Melrose Lane
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – According to the Response and Accident Tracker, first responders were called to the scene of an accident with injury on Melrose Lane Tuesday morning.
Dispatchers received calls concerning an automobile accident at 7300 Melrose Lane around 10:12 a.m.
Officials have not provided more information.
Auto accident disrupts traffic on Interstate 44 in Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Authorities are investigating a car accident on Interstate 44 in Oklahoma City, according to TTN Oklahoma City.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of an accident on Interstate 44 westbound near North Kelley Avenue around 8:30 a.m.
It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.
