Teen driver fatally collides with parked semi-truck on I-44 near Sapulpa
SAPULPA, OK – According to KTUL, a teen driver died after they hit a parked semi-truck on I-44 WB near mile marker 214 on Sunday.
A 19-year-old was driving west on I-44 when they strayed off the road and slammed into the semi-truck parked on the shoulder around 1:17 a.m.
The 19-year-old was pinned inside their vehicle for around one hour. First responders pronounced them dead at the scene.
The semi-truck driver, Parvinder Singh, 26, was in the sleeper bed when the 19-year-old crashed into the semi-truck. They were not hurt in the collision.
Officials have not released the 19-year-old’s name.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
