Man sentenced for deadly crash on OK 3 in McCurtain County
MCCURTAIN COUNTY, OK – According to KTUL, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma sentenced a man for involuntary manslaughter for a fatal crash on OK 3 on July 1, 2022.
A 33-year-old man was driving a pickup truck east on OK 3 with a suspended driver’s license when he strayed into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle. The passenger of the other car died in the collision.
Authorities found open containers in the 33-year-old’s truck. The driver told authorities he drank beer before driving. He tested positive for marijuana and had a BAC of 0.19.
The driver pleaded guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter in January. He will serve 37 months in jail.
