MIDWEST CITY, OK – According to an update from KOCO, it was a 49-year-old man who was killed in a pursuit-turned-crash that happened Monday night.

The events unfolded after 8:15 p.m., when the 49-year-old man had hit a woman with a pipe and then stolen her silver Nissan sedan at a Dollar General in Harrah. He, along with a passenger, fled the scene and drove south on Sooner Road.

Midwest City police spotted the suspect and the vehicle and tried to pull him over. However, he did not stop, prompting a pursuit.

The pursuit ended on Southeast 15th Street when the suspect crashed into another vehicle because of a TVI maneuver conducted by a Midwest City officer.

The suspect died from his injuries at the scene, and the other driver was left with minor injuries.

The police officer who conducted the TVI maneuver was placed on administrative leave.

Charges pending against truck driver for fatal rear-end crash near Shawnee

NEAR SHAWNEE, OK – Two counts of first-degree manslaughter charges are pending against a tractor-trailer driver responsible for a fatal rear-end crash near Shawnee.

According to OKCFOX, the rear-end collision occurred on March 21 on I-40 West. The truck driver had reached for a water bottle and failed to notice the congested traffic in front of her. She crashed into the back of the car in front of her, killing the two occupants inside.

The two individuals who died were identified as a male and a female, both University of Oklahoma students. Authorities reported other injuries, but did not say how many people were hurt.

The truck driver has a warrant out for her arrest. Officials filed charges against her on Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Pottawatomie County.

Male runner fatally struck by commercial truck in Hugo 

HUGO, OK – An 18-year-old man who was running across the U.S. Highway 70 died after he was struck by a commercial truck on Tuesday. 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KTUL that the crash occurred after 11 a.m. Preliminary details show that the man was going north and the truck was going east near North 4200 Road when they collided. 

The truck driver, from Crittenden, Arkansas, was uninjured. Troopers did not say if he would face charges. 

Man loses life to pedestrian collision in Northwest OKC

NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man lost his life to a pedestrian collision in Northwest Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

KOCO said the crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. on May Avenue near NW 41st Street. The man had allegedly run in front of an SUV, leading to the crash.

Oklahoma City police said the driver stayed at the scene and did not report any wrongful conduct.

The victim’s age and place of residence were not released.

Delays reported toward NE 23rd St. due to I-35 North crash

NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Traffic delays were reported toward exit 130 at Northeast 23rd Street due to a Wednesday morning crash on I-35 North. 

Total Traffic Network’s Oklahoma City first reported the crash at 8:50 a.m., saying it happened near Northeast 50th Street. 

Officials have not specified how the collision unfolded, whether anyone was injured, or if anyone would face charges.
