NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – According to an update from KOCO, it was an alleged impaired driver who was responsible for causing a fatal crash at a Northwest Oklahoma City pond on Sunday.

The collision happened after 12:30 a.m. on the 12600th block of Heritage Oaks Drive. Oklahoma City Police determined that the suspected DUI driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when they came onto a cul-de-sac and lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the pond.

Three occupants were able to escape from the submerged vehicle, while one person, later identified as a 23-year-old woman, remained trapped. Oklahoma City Fire Department’s diving and rescue team freed the occupant. An ambulance rushed the 23-year-old woman to a hospital, where she later died.

Police said they arrested the suspected impaired driver, an 18-year-old adult, and booked them into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. They were arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and aggravated driving under the influence.

No formal charges have been filed.

1 hurt, 2 critically in collision at oil field near Hinton

NEAR HINTON, OK – One person was injured, and two others were left in critical condition after a collision at an oil field near Hinton on Tuesday, KOCO said.

The incident occurred in the area of Highway 37 and South Maple Road. Preliminary details indicate that a pressure-filled pike crashed into a white pickup.

One person was transported to a hospital by ground, and two others were airlifted to the emergency room.

The two individuals are recovering from critical, life-threatening injuries, and the person taken to the hospital by ground is said to be in stable condition.

The Canadian County emergency director confirmed the accident was not an oilfield explosion and did not cause a fire.

OKC PD arrest 3 following pursuit-turned-crash in Northwest OKC 

NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Three people were arrested following a pursuit-turned-crash in Northwest Oklahoma City reported after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. 

The incident began when a person stole a black Dodge Charger in the area of Memorial Road and Pennsylvania Avenue, KOCO reports. Police spotted the stolen vehicle, and a pursuit was initiated at 1:45 a.m. 

The pursuit ended less than five minutes after the suspect crashed the black Dodge Charger into the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Highland Park Boulevard. 

The driver and the two other suspects attempted to flee the scene on foot and were shortly found at a nearby apartment complex, with the help of a drone and a K-9. 

Oklahoma City police took the suspects into custody. 

No injuries have been reported. 

80-year-old female driver charged in deadly hit-and-run crash in Hollis

HOLLIS, OK – An 80-year-old female driver is facing multiple charges after causing a deadly hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a 54-year-old woman on Valentine’s Day.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KSWO that the collision occurred on the westbound U.S. 62 on Saturday, Feb. 14. Preliminary details show that the 80-year-old female driver ran over a 54-year-old woman walking on the north shoulder.

The 80-year-old woman, a Hollis local, fled the scene of the crash prior to first responders’ arrival.

First responders transported the female pedestrian to OU Medical Center, where she died a day later on Sunday, Feb. 15.

On the day of the crash, the elderly driver told her family that she allegedly crashed her car into a bridge, which resulted in severe damage to the right front fender and headlight, as well as the windshield.

The driver told OHP that she also crashed into a bridge and left the scene.

OHP investigators examined all bridges from Hollis to the Texas state line and found no damage.

OHP also learned that the elderly lady did not have a driver’s license and only presented a state ID to officials.

As of this writing, the driver is facing felony charges of first-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and is facing a misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle without a license.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a vehicle accident that took place in the Glen Oaks Residential area on Tuesday.

OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker first announced the crash at 12:09 p.m., saying it happened at the intersection of East Memorial Road and North Santa Fe.

OKC DPS has not specified how the collision unfolded, listed the number of people and vehicles involved, or confirmed the extent of injuries sustained.

The exact cause of the crash has not been made immediately clear.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety is investigating the details behind an injury collision that happened in the Capitol Hill area on Tuesday.
