ELGIN, OK – Two students were sent to the hospital after an Elgin Public School bus and a semi-truck crashed in Elgin on Monday, a KSWO update reveals.
The Elgin Public School superintendent said in a public statement that the two students were sent to OU Medical Center. One of the students remains hospitalized, while the other was sent home.
The incident unfolded around 3:30 p.m., when the semi-truck rear-ended the school bus on Interstate 44. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 38 or 39 students were on board the school bus at the time of the crash, and the superintendent said 15 students were evaluated for injuries by doctors and then released.
The superintendent said the bus driver returned to work.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the details behind the school bus, semi-truck crash, and has not reported any citations or charges at this time.
Multiple hospitalized following OU bus-passenger vehicle collision in Norman
NORMAN, OK – Two or three University of Oklahoma students were taken to the hospital following a collision between a OU school bus and a passenger vehicle on Wednesday.
News9 said the OU bus-passenger vehicle collision happened near the Lloyd Noble Center. The students who were sent to the emergency room are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials are working to determine the cause of the crash. No citations or charges were reported at this time.
OHP responds to multi-vehicle crash at I-40, I-44 in Southwest OKC
SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash that happened at the intersection of I-40 and I-44 on Thursday.
Significant traffic delays could be seen as crews worked to clear the scene, News9 reports.
Drivers in the area were asked to use alternative routes until all lanes reopened.
OHP reported no injuries and is investigating the details behind the multi-vehicle crash.
At least 1 injured in I-40 three-vehicle collision involving pickup truck
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person sustained injuries in a three-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Interstate 40 near I-44 on Thursday.
The crash happened on the eastbound lanes near Portland Avenue, KOCO said. The impact of the collision left a pickup truck with significant front-end damage.
Two other vehicles were towed away.
Authorities did not confirm the extent of the injuries that were suffered, nor did they disclose the cause of the crash.

OK-DOT called to vehicle accident on I-44 in Northwest OKC
NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Transportation was dispatched to the scene of a vehicle accident on Interstate 44 on Thursday.
Total Traffic Network’s Oklahoma City division reported the crash at 9:40 a.m., saying it occurred near Northwest 39th Expressway at exit 123B/I-44.
Officials did not report any lane closures, but likely told drivers to proceed with caution as crews worked to clean up the area.
No injuries or citations were reported.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
OK DPS investigates traffic crash in Capitol Hill
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety is investigating the details behind a traffic crash that took place in the Capitol Hill area on Thursday.
