NEAR THACKERVILLE, OK – Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested a driver, suspected of DUI, after a single-car crash that occurred near Thackerville Sunday.
Love County deputies told KTEN that the events unfolded when the driver tried to take an I-35 exit, lost control of his steering wheel, and crashed into a water barrier.
EMS crews took the driver to a hospital as a precaution. Upon his release, authorities were expected to take him to Love County Jail.
1 killed, 2 injured in head-on collision in Love Co. involving big rig
LOVE COUNTY, OK – One person was killed and two were injured in a head-on collision involving a big rig that happened north of Thackerville Sunday, KTEN said.
The crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. on U.S. 77 in a no-pass zone. Preliminary details from Oklahoma Highway Patrol indicate that a 23-year-old woman was driving north when she tried to overtake a big rig in front of her and crashed head-on with a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 34-year-old man from Marietta, died from his injuries at the scene.
The 23-year-old woman and a passenger from the southbound vehicle, sustained unspecified injuries, while the truck driver was unharmed.
OHP shut down the highway for a couple hours to accommodate the scene clean up process. All lanes have since reopened.
First responders respond to car fire on I-35 in Moore
MOORE, OK – Moore police and Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to a car fire that happened on I-35 North along Northeast 12th Street Monday.
The driver was able to escape their vehicle prior to the flames spreading, KOCO said. At the time of the reporting, no fire crews were at the scene, but likely pulled up to the scene to extinguish the flames.
At this time, authorities did not specify how the fire started or said if anyone was injured.

Deputy injured after cruiser overturns and crashes in OKC
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A deputy was injured after their police cruiser overturned and crashed in Oklahoma City Sunday, according to News9.
The collision happened in the area of I-44 and Southwest 15th Street. A deputy saw a pedestrian walking across the road and did their best to avoid hitting the walker by swerving. This swerve is what caused him to lose control of his cruiser and led it to crash and overturn.
The deputy was left with minor injuries. It is unclear if the pedestrian was hurt.
Authorities shut down the area for the scene clean up process and investigation.
Home damaged as a result of hit-and-run crash in OKC’s The Village
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A home in The Village neighborhood was damaged as a result of a hit-and-run crash that happened Monday.
The suspect crashed their vehicle into a home off West Britton Road and North May Avenue and immediately fled the scene, KOCO reports.
It’s unclear if police found and arrested the suspect or confirmed if they have any connection to the home occupants. At this time, officials did not release a description of the suspect and their vehicle.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a collision that happened in the Blue Quail Ridge area Monday.
According to OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker, the crash occurred before 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of eastbound West Memorial Road and North Pennsylvania Avenue.
The exact cause of the vehicle accident and extent of injuries were not reported.
