TAFT, OK – A driver of a heavy-duty pickup truck was sent to the hospital following a collision with a Muskogee High School bus in Taft on Friday.
KTUL said the school bus, which was carrying the high school’s football team, was on its way to a game in Putnam City when it collided with the truck.
The football team and other passengers on board were spared from injuries. Oklahoma Highway Patrol did not specify the severity of injuries the other driver sustained.
At this time, OHP has not disclosed the exact cause of the crash. Additional details will be provided after our team learns more.
Impairment suspected in fatal rollover crash in Preston
PRESTON, OK – Impairment was suspected in a fatal rollover crash that happened in Preston, approximately 32 miles south of Tulsa, last Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The collision occurred at the intersection of U.S. 75 and North 220 Road (also known as Pierce Avenue), according to KTUL.
A 41-year-old man was said to have had drugs or alcohol in his system while operating a vehicle. He lost control of his vehicle while driving on the highway, which caused him to drift off the road. He overcorrected, went off the road again, and crashed into a guardrail.
The impact of the collision caused the man’s vehicle to overturn. He did not wear a seatbelt and was ejected as a result.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has not provided further commentary.
Alleged DUI driver crashes into OKC police cruiser
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An alleged DUI driver crashed into an Oklahoma City police cruiser on I-40 near Meridian Avenue on Sunday, News9 reports.
Prior to the collision, the alleged DUI driver was traveling south on northbound I-40 near Northwest 10th Street. The suspect kept driving and continued driving the wrong way, going west on the eastbound lane.
The suspected impaired driver then tried to make a U-turn and collided with the officer’s vehicle.
First responders evaluated the suspect and the police officer and said they appeared to be uninjured.
Police took the driver into custody. As of this writing, no charges seemed to have been filed.
Man, 68, killed in two-vehicle collision in Murray Co.
MURRAY COUNTY, OK – A 68-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle collision that happened near River Bottom Road in Murray County on Sunday, KXII reports.
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m., and the 68-year-old man from Davis, Oklahoma, died from his injuries at the scene. The other motorist was uninjured.
First responders are actively working to determine the events that led to the crash.
OK-DOT shuts down I-35 North due to semi-trailer crash in Purcell
PURCELL, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Transportation shut down the majority of I-35 North around 5:15 a.m. on Monday due to a semi-trailer crash.
KOCO said debris was left on the road after the semi-truck crashed and overturned, warranting closures near Highway 74 and near mile marker 93.
OK-DOT left one northbound lane open to accommodate the flow of traffic.
No injuries have been reported.
At least 1 injured in vehicle accident in OKC’s Nova area
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a vehicle accident that took place in the Nova area on Monday.
The collision occurred before 1:45 p.m. on the 7413th block of Northwest 111th Street, according to OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker.
Authorities did not specify the extent of injuries that were sustained or whether anyone was cited.
The exact cause of the collision is under investigation.
