SHAWNEE, OK – A fatal three-car crash involving a crane truck occurred on the eastbound lanes of I-40 on Thursday evening, News 9 reports.

The accident occurred in a construction zone near U.S. 177 when the crane truck came over a hill, moving too quickly to stop before colliding with another vehicle and running off the road. One person was killed. No additional injuries have been reported at this time.

Both I-40 and U.S. 177 were closed for several hours while oil was cleaned off the accident site.

Accident Reported at May Ave at SW 44th St

A collision took place at the intersection of May Avenue and Southwest 44th Street, according to Total Traffic Oklahoma City.

The incident occurred sometime before 7:50 a.m. on August 22. It is unclear whether anyone was injured at this time.

Vehicle on Fire at Walker Ave at Southwest 70th Street

Total Traffic Oklahoma City reports that a vehicle caught fire on Walker Avenue at Southwest 70th Street.

Collision Snarls Traffic on I-44 NB Near SW 44th St

A crash has slowed northbound traffic on I-44 near Exit 117/SW 44th Street, Total Traffic Oklahoma City reports.

The crash, which took place shortly before 8 a.m., backed traffic up to Exit 115 to I-240/OK-3.

It is not clear whether anyone was injured or how many vehicles were involved.

Accident Blocks Center Lane of EB I-40 at May Ave

Total Traffic Oklahoma City reports that a collision blocked the center lane of eastbound I-40 just past May Avenue during this morning’s rush hour.

The initial crash soon had commuters backed up to Exit 145 to Meridian Avenue.

TTN did not say whether injuries were suspected in the crash.

Backups persisted for at least the next half hour and extended the slowdown to MacArthur Boulevard.

Crash Reported Near Myriad Botanical Gardens

A collision took place on Reno Ave at South Harvey Avenue—the southern border of Myriad Botanical Gardens—just before 9 a.m. today.

Total Traffic Oklahoma City did not provide any additional information.
