OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City police arrested a person on suspicion of driving while impaired following a collision that happened on I-35 South Saturday.
The crash occurred between Southeast 89th Street and Southeast 27th Street and seemed to involve a semi-trailer, according to KOCO.
Based on what officials know so far, the truck appears to have crashed and left a fuel spill. Crews cleaned up that spill and shut down the southbound lanes for at least three hours.
Officials have not released any information on the driver or provided further commentary on the collision.
1 killed, another injured in pursuit-turned-crash in Midwest City
MIDWEST CITY, OK – One person was killed and another was injured in a pursuit-turned crash that occurred Monday night, KOCO reports.
The events unfolded around 9 p.m., when Midwest City police received a call about a stolen vehicle. Officers located the stolen vehicle on South Sooner Road and tried to pull over the vehicle.
The driver refused to comply and kept driving, prompting a pursuit. The chase ended when the suspect crashed the stolen vehicle on Southeast 15th Street.
Police said that they conducted a tactical vehicle intervention, which is what caused the suspect to crash the vehicle.
The force of the collision led the suspect to die from their injuries at the scene. Another person was left with minor injuries.
Police later confirmed that the suspect stole a vehicle from a woman in Harrah and allegedly hit her with a pipe before taking off. Her physical condition was not reported.
As of this writing, the suspect’s name has not been released.
2 vehicles damaged in multi-vehicle accident along Will Rogers Int. Airport
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Two vehicles were significantly damaged in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred outside the Will Rogers International Airport on Monday.
The collision took place at the intersection of Southwest 74th Street and Regina Avenue and left damage to the front of two vehicles, KOCO reports. Airbags were deployed. At the time of the crash, tow truck crews were seen working to remove the vehicles from sight.
Police and ambulance crews were the primary first responders. At this time, they have not specified how the collision unfolded or revealed the extent of injuries.
OK-DOT blocks portion of I-40 East in SW OKC due to crash
SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews had to block a portion of I-40 East along Meridian Avenue due to a Tuesday morning crash.
According to Total Traffic Network’s OKC division, the collision occurred around 8:45 a.m. Officials said the center lane was blocked by the vehicle. During that time, crews worked to clear the scene, which resulted in traffic congestion that could be seen towards Exit 143 at Rockwell Avenue.
At this time, authorities have not specified how the crash unfolded, whether anyone was injured, or shared the number of people and vehicles involved.
Car crashes into tree in Guthrie, sending 1 to hospital
GUTHRIE, OK – One person was airlifted to a hospital after their car crashed into a tree off I-35 South near Midwest Boulevard on Tuesday.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Guthrie Fire Department had to close a portion of I-35 South to accommodate the scene clearance process, KOCO said. During the closures, traffic delays could be seen for two to three miles.
Tow truck crews removed the vehicle from the tree.
Troopers have not confirmed what caused the driver to crash into the tree, and did not specify whether the hospitalized person was the motorist or passenger.
The extent of the individuals’ injuries has not been specified.
