DEL CITY, OK – Del City police suspect impairment was a contributing factor in what led to a fatal motorcycle collision that claimed the life of a 32-year-old man on Friday, Nov. 7.

According to KOCO, a 30-year-old man driving a Toyota Camry had allegedly been impaired and was speeding when he collided with a 32-year-old male motorcyclist at the intersection of East Reno Avenue and Sunnylane Road.

Police said the crash occurred after midnight, and they declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Officers discovered a handgun in the Toyota Camry and said the Toyota driver showed signs of having drugs or alcohol in his system.

A thorough investigation also revealed that the Toyota driver was operating his vehicle with a revoked license. Police arrested him on suspicion of DUI and booked him into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. He is likely to face charges of “possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, causing a fatality accident without a valid driver’s license, driving while license revoked, and second-degree murder,” and aggravated driving under the influence.”
