NEWALLA, OK – A Guthrie man lost his life as a result of a solo-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 in Newalla, reported after 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to KOCO.
The incident unfolded when the 28-year-old Guthrie man lost control of his car and crashed into a bridge support near the Kickapoo Turnpike.
The driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol is working to determine what caused the driver to lose control of his car and whether other factors played a role in the collision.
1 killed, 3 injured in ATV collision at Soggy Bottom Trails campground
WANETTE, OK – One person was killed and three others were injured in an ATV collision at Soggy Bottom Trails, Pub & Camping on Saturday.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol told OKC Fox that one ATV overturned after colliding with a second ATV.
The driver of the overturned ATV, a 45-year-old man, was ejected and died, and his two passengers were injured.
The driver of the second ATV, a 24-year-old adult, was also injured.
OHP confirmed the 45-year-old man and his two passengers did not wear seatbelts, while the driver and passenger of the second ATV did.
Alleged DUI driver in custody after colliding with parked car in NW OKC
NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An alleged DUI driver was taken into custody after colliding with a parked car in Northwest Oklahoma City on Monday.
The crash occurred around 1 a.m. in the area of Northwest Expressway and Classen Boulevard, News9 reports.
Oklahoma City Police stressed that they took the driver into custody on suspicion of DUI and have not announced any formal charges against the driver at this time.
Police have not released the suspect’s name and have reported no injuries.
Impairment, speeding factors in collision in Tulsa, police say
TULSA, OK – Impairment and speeding were factors behind a collision that happened in Tulsa on Monday, Tulsa Police said.
News on 6 said the incident happened around 2 p.m., when the alleged impaired driver, who was speeding, lost control of his blue car and crashed into a utility pole off the intersection of East 51st Street South and South Fulton Avenue.
The man’s car got tangled in some wires. The Public Service Company of Oklahoma had to stabilize the pole before allowing fire crews to stabilize the vehicle.
Tulsa Police conducted a field sobriety test on the driver, who exhibited signs of impairment.
Police arrested the driver and said no other occupants were involved.
No other injuries were reported.
At least 1 injured in vehicle accident along OKC East KOA Holiday
CHOCTAW, OK – At least one person was injured in a vehicle accident outside of the OKC East KOA Holiday campground on Monday.
According to the OKC Response & Accident Tracker, officials were called to the 6200th block of South Choctaw Road and arrived at the scene after 12 p.m.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety has not specified the severity of injuries sustained or listed the number of people and vehicles involved.
