HASKELL, OK – A driver was killed in a crash involving a deer and a commercial vehicle on Friday, KTUL reports. 

The collision was reported after 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of OK-16 and North 134th Street. The events started when the driver crashed into a deer. The force of the collision pushed the vehicle across several lanes before it struck a commercial vehicle head-on. 

Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the driver wore a seatbelt but died from their injuries at the scene. The commercial vehicle driver survived and was left with unspecified injuries. 

Fort Gibson PD, FBI searches for hit-and-run vehicle that killed teen

FORT GIBSON, OK – Fort Gibson police and the FBI are actively working to find a vehicle and suspect in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a teenage girl last month.

KJRH said the collision occurred on Highway 80 near West 828 Road on Nov. 5. A 16-year-old girl and her friend were walking when the suspect struck the 16-year-old with their vehicle. The suspect did not render aid or call 911 and immediately fled the scene.

The 16-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries, while her friend survived.

Police said they are partnering with the FBI on this case because the vehicle of interest belongs to a suspect who is Native American and “wanted to make sure that they were involved.”

Alleged impaired driver in custody after pedestrian crash in Warr Acres

WARR ACRES, OK – An alleged impaired driver was booked into custody after causing a pedestrian crash that killed one person and injured another on Sunday.

Warr Acres Police told News9 that the driver crashed into the two pedestrians as they were crossing the intersection of Northwest 38th Street and North MacArthur Boulevard.

Police said the two pedestrians were a mother and daughter. The mother, a 45-year-old woman, and her 19-year-old daughter were taken to the hospital. The woman later died from her injuries, while the 19-year-old is receiving treatment for critical injuries.

Law enforcement has identified the suspect as a 68-year-old man from Oklahoma City. Police arrested him on complaints of second-degree murder, driving under the influence of drugs, and driving while causing an accident with great bodily injury.

Officials summoned to collision in Northwest OKC

NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials were dispatched to the scene of a collision that occurred in Northwest Oklahoma City on Monday.

The crash occurred after 9 a.m. at the intersection of Memorial Road and Lake Hefner Parkway, according to Total Traffic Network’s Oklahoma City.

Law enforcement did not specify how the crash unfolded or whether anyone was injured.

Injuries sustained in vehicle accident in Timber Creek Estates 

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person sustained injuries in a vehicle accident that took place in the Timber Creek Estates on Monday.

The collision happened around 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of Southwest 29th Street and South Mustang Road, OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker revealed.

Officials are working to determine the exact cause of the crash. No pending charges appeared to have been filed against anyone involved in the crash.

Traffic delays reported toward Meridian Ave. due to I-40 collision

SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Traffic delays extended towards Meridian Avenue following a collision on I-40 East on Monday.

Total Traffic Network’s Oklahoma City first reported the crash at 6:55 a.m., saying it happened along Portland Avenue. Transportation crews were able to clear the collision in a span of five minutes, but told drivers to expect some temporary traffic delays.

Authorities have not specified how the crash unfolded, how many people and vehicles were involved, or if anyone was injured.
