HARTSHORNE, OK – Two first responders and another person were killed in separate incidents in connection with the H-Town Throwdown drag races in Hartshorne last week.

KOCO said that the two first responders were killed in a vehicle crash during the town’s drag racing event/festival last Saturday, Nov 1. The first two responders were identified as a 58-year-old and a 60-year-old man. One of the victims served as fire chief of the Alderson Fire Department for eight years, and another was a police officer for the Haileyville Police Department.

The third person who died was a 42-year-old man, who was the husband of Hartshorne’s mayor. He was killed last Friday, Oct. 31, while helping to prepare for the festival. Preliminary details show that he got electrocuted after a portable light hit a power line above his head.

Porum police officer dies in rollover collision in Quinton 

QUINTON, OK – A 28-year-old man, who was later identified as a Porum police officer, died in a rollover collision that happened in Quinton last Thursday, Oct. 30.

The crash occurred before 10:30 a.m. on Highway 71 South near Etchinson Road, according to Fox23.

The 28-year-old man was driving on the highway and encountered a curve when he lost control of his vehicle and drifted off the road. Within seconds, he crashed his car, and it overturned.

The driver, a Quinton local, died a short time later. Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed he was the sole occupant of his vehicle.

Big rig overturns near Wellston, sending driver to hospital

NEAR WELLSTON, OK – A driver had to go to a local hospital for minor injuries after their big rig crashed and overturned on Turner Turnpike on Thursday.

The rollover collision occurred around 4 a.m. on the eastbound lanes, News9 said.

The truck blocked the inside lanes in the east and westbound lanes, prompting closures.

All lanes have reopened since.

Wellston fire crews were the primary first responders. At this time, they have not specified the exact cause of the crash.

Injury, delays reported following U.S. 66 collision in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Traffic delays could be seen towards Northwest 36th Street following a U.S. 66 collision that resulted in an injury on Thursday.

Total Traffic Network’s OKC division first reported the U.S. 66 (also known as NW 39th Expressway) crash at 8:30 a.m., saying it occurred along North Portland Avenue.

Officials are working to determine the exact cause of the collision.

At this time, authorities have not confirmed how many people and vehicles were involved or how many people were injured.

At least 1 injured in vehicle accident along OKC’s Lincoln Park Golf Course

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a vehicle accident that took place outside of the Lincoln Park Golf Course on Thursday.

The crash occurred after 10 a.m. at the intersection of Northeast 36th Street and Northeast Grand Boulevard, according to OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker.

As of this writing, officials have not said how the collision unfolded, listed the number of people and vehicles involved, or specified the extent of injuries.

DPS called to injury collision in OKC’s Oliver Park South 

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the scene of an injury collision in Oliver Park South on Thursday.
