LAWTON, OK – At least one person was sent to the hospital following a fiery car crash that happened in Lawton on Thursday, KWSO reports.
The collision occurred around 12:30 a.m. off Northwest Cache Road & Northwest Homestead Drive. It’s not immediately clear what caused the car to catch on fire, but the impact of that wreck caused debris to spread two to three blocks.
First responders were left with no choice but to shut down eastbound Cache Road between Northwest 34th Street and Homestead Drive for several hours to allow crews to clean up the mess.
Police did not say how many occupants were inside the car that caught fire, and did not specify if other vehicles were involved.
Police have also not disclosed the current physical condition of the person sent to the hospital.

UPDATE: Woman, 21, loses life to single-vehicle crash in Lone Grove
LONE GROVE, OK – Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed it was a 21-year-old woman who was killed in a single-vehicle crash that happened last Saturday, May 2., KXII said.
This is an update from our reporting on Monday, May 4. (This is the fourth article listed in our digest post.)
The incident unfolded around 3 a.m. on Interstate 35 South. The 21-year-old female driver, a Lone Grove local, was driving when, for reasons unclear, she went to the left side of the road.
The woman’s car overturned several times before it came to rest.
OHP confirmed the driver, the sole occupant of her vehicle, wore a seatbelt, but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The woman’s family has been notified.
A full investigation is underway.
At least 1 injured in traffic collision in OKC’s Highlander South
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a traffic collision that occurred in the Highlander South community on Friday.
The crash happened before 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of Southeast Grand Boulevard and southbound Interstate 35 Service Road, according to the OKC Response & Accident Tracker.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety did not specify the severity of the injuries sustained or confirm the events leading to the crash.

DPS investigates injury vehicle accident in Windsor Forest
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety is investigating the details behind an injury vehicle accident in the Windsor Forest neighborhood on Friday.
DPS were dispatched to the 4800th block of Northwest 23rd Street and pulled up to the scene before 12:30 p.m., according to the OKC Response & Accident Tracker.
DPS has not revealed the severity of injuries one or more people suffered or said if they cited or charged anyone for their involvement in the crash.
DPS is actively working to determine the events leading to the collision.

UPTOWN OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person sustained injuries in a traffic crash that happened in Uptown Oklahoma City on Friday.
The collision occurred before 12:30 p.m. on the 3900th block of North Pennsylvania Avenue, according to the Oklahoma Response & Accident Tracker.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety did not specify the extent of injuries that were sustained or whether anyone needed to go to the hospital. They also have not said how many people or vehicles were involved.
DPS is investigating the details behind the crash and has not been able to confirm any citations or charges for the involved occupants.
