TULSA, OK – Tulsa police arrested a male suspect in connection with a hit-and-run crash that sent one person to a hospital on Tuesday.

The collision happened before 11 a.m. at Riverside Drive and East 52nd Street, according to KTUL. Preliminary details show that the male suspect, driving a black Nissan Frontier, had failed to stop at a stop sign on westbound 52nd Street and pulled out in front of a Dodge Charger.

The two vehicles collided, and a piece of metal got stuck in the Dodge driver’s chest.

The male suspect took a look at the male Dodge driver before fleeing the scene.

EMS crews rushed the Dodge driver to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

An eyewitness, who was driving, had followed the suspect to his apartment complex and informed police of his whereabouts.

Police arrived to find the suspect’s car, but not the suspect myself.

An hour after the crash, the suspect came back to the crash scene in a different vehicle and confessed to police that he fled the scene of the collision because he had to go to a dentist appointment.

EMS crews also took the suspect to a hospital out of precaution, and he was cleared. Upon his clearance, police arrested him and booked him into Tulsa County Jail for leaving the scene of an injury crash.
