TULSA, OK – Tulsa Police suspect an SUV driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic, which resulted in a two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Saturday.

The two-vehicle collision happened before 4:30 p.m. Police told KTUL that the incident unfolded when the SUV driver, a 91-year-old man, was driving north on Sheridan Avenue and failed to yield to an oncoming motorcycle while turning west onto 46th Street. The SUV went directly in front of the 2024 Harley motorcycle, and the two vehicles collided.

The motorcyclist, a 46-year-old man, was thrown from his motorcycle. EMS crews rushed him to a hospital, where he later died.

Police have started an investigation and have not said if they cited the SUV driver or whether he could face charges.

Teen, 18, dies several days after crash in Marietta

MARIETTA, OK – An 18-year-old male died several days after a crash in Marietta, according to OKCFOX.

The collision happened around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 9. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the teenager was driving north on U.S. 77 and tried to pass another vehicle. As he attempted to overtake, he lost control of his vehicle, leading him to drift off the road and crash into a driveway embankment.

The vehicle went airborne before coming to rest about 277 feet near the driveway embankment.

First responders rushed the teenager to a medical center in Plano, where he died this week.

Officials close portion of I-40 along Agnew Ave. in OKC due to commercial vehicle collision

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials had to shut down a portion of Interstate 40 West along South Agnew Avenue on Monday due to a commercial vehicle collision.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol told Koco5 that the commercial vehicle had lost its cargo — animal byproduct — which fell onto the interstate. Transportation crews shut down the two center middle lanes for over an hour before reopening all lanes at 5:15 p.m.

OHP has not reported any injuries or confirmed whether other people were involved.

Majority of I-240 in OKC shuts down after vehicle crash

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A majority of Interstate 240 was shut down after a Monday afternoon vehicle crash, News9 reports.

By 3 p.m., the majority of lanes remained closed, except for one to accommodate the flow of traffic. Traffic congestion still followed, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol urged commuters to avoid the area or consider alternative routes as crews worked to clean up the debris and restore safe road conditions.

OHP has not specified the number of people and vehicles involved, reported any injuries, or disclosed the events leading to the crash.

Love County deputy injured in hydroplaning collision on Interstate 35 South

LOVE COUNTY, OK – A Love County deputy sustained minor injuries in a hydroplaning collision that happened on Interstate 35 South on Sunday, KTEN reports.

The Love County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy was trying to pull over a car for traffic infractions and lost control of their car due to slick road conditions. The car hydroplaned and crashed into a guardrail before spinning out of control.

Car damage likely resulted, and no other cars appeared to have been involved in the crash.

OKC PD, EMSA dispatched to rollover crash in NW OKC

NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police and Emergency Medical Services Authority were dispatched to the scene of a rollover crash in Northwest Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

The collision occurred at the intersection of West Memorial Road and North Meridian Avenue, Koco5 reports. A red colored vehicle likely overturned after colliding with another vehicle, an SUV, which was seen several feet away.

A significant amount of debris was also scattered throughout the intersection, although it remains unclear whether anyone was injured or whether anyone was cited.
