MONKEY ISLAND, OK – A 70-year-old man from Afton was killed in a single-car crash that happened on Monkey Island near Grand Lake on Tuesday, according to KSN16.

The incident happened before 7 a.m. The Afton man was driving north on Highway 125 when he veered off the road and crashed into a tree. Oklahoma Highway Patrol noted that there was heavy rain on Tuesday, which could have been a contributing factor in this particular crash and others.

OHP confirmed the male driver wore a seatbelt, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The man’s family has been notified.

No other occupants were reported to have been involved.

Hit-and-run suspect sought in collision that damaged OKC home

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City Police are on the hunt for a hit-and-run suspect in connection with a collision that damaged an Oklahoma City home on Wednesday.

According to Koco5 video footage, it appeared that the suspect was driving a white Chevrolet sedan and crashed into a home located off Northwest 80th Street and Walker Avenue. The incident happened around 3:30 a.m., and the driver allegedly fled from the scene of the crash on foot.

A large gaping hole was left in the side of the home, although it is not immediately clear if anyone was inside the home at the time of the crash or whether anyone was injured as a result.

Police have not released a description of the suspect and are working to learn more.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a vehicle accident that happened outside Will Rogers International Airport on Wednesday.

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the intersection of Southwest 44th Street and South Independence Avenue and arrived at the scene before noon, the OKC Response & Accident Tracker reveals.
