YUKON, ON – Four young adults were killed, and another was sent to the hospital after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 40 near Czech Hall Road on Friday, Koco said.
The incident unfolded around 12:30 a.m. when a person was driving west on eastbound I-40 and crashed head-on into another vehicle. One of the vehicles then caught on fire.
The wrong-way driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition, while the four young adults in the other vehicle lost their lives.
The other driver was identified as a 20-year-old woman, and her three passengers were identified as an 18-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man, and a man aged either 18 or 19. Most were El Reno Public Schools alums, according to OKCFOX.

OK DOT closes majority of I-44 in OKC due to traffic collision
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Transportation closed the majority of westbound Interstate 44 near North May Avenue on Thursday due to a traffic collision, according to News9.
Officials left one lane open to accommodate the flow of traffic.
At the time of the reporting, delays were expected to continue into the rush hour, and all drivers were asked to find alternative routes as crews worked to restore safe road conditions.
All lanes have since reopened.
Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in Tulsa
TULSA, OK – A pedestrian’s life was claimed after they were struck by a vehicle in Tulsa on the 1200th block of Interstate 44 West below the U.S. 75 overpass on Friday.
The pedestrian-vehicle collision happened near South Union Avenue, according to News on 6.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol did not specify the events leading up to the pedestrian-vehicle collision or say whether they cited or arrested the driver.
The pedestrian’s name has not been released.
