1 dead, 1 injured following single-vehicle crash on US Rt 66 near Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, OK – According to KOCO, one man died, and another man was hurt in a single-vehicle crash on US Rt 66, one mile south of Bridgeport, on Saturday.
A 62-year-old man was driving a pickup truck east on US Rt 66 when it went into a slide after hitting a rough patch around 10:30 a.m. The truck strayed off the road, struck a utility pole, collided with a pipe fence, and rolled over.
The driver and his 42-year-old passenger were ejected from the truck during the crash.
Emergency crews transported both men to area hospitals, where the driver died.
Neither man was wearing a seat belt.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
