WEBBERS FALLS, OK – A driver failed to negotiate a curve, which led to a fatal fiery crash that claimed their life on Wednesday, Dec. 3, KTUL reports.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol first publicly reported the crash on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Troopers said the collision occurred around 4 a.m. off the intersection of South 105th Street East and East 213th Street South. Preliminary details indicate the driver was traveling north on the highway when he missed a curve, leaving the road and crashing into a tree.
The driver’s car caught on fire. The driver did not wear a seatbelt, and he died from his injuries at the scene. Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the motorist as a 57-year-old man from Checotah and confirmed he was the sole occupant of his vehicle.
2 killed in single-vehicle collision near Stratford
NEAR STRATFORD, OK – Two people were killed in a single-vehicle collision that took place on U.S. Highway 177 around 11:30 p.m. last Tuesday, Dec. 9.
According to the Pauls Valley Democrat, the driver of a vehicle was reportedly speeding, which led their vehicle to drift off the road and plow into a tree. The vehicle came to rest in a ditch, and a portion of the vehicle caught on fire.
The driver and passenger, a 53-year-old woman from Sulphur, succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
2 teens dead, 2 injured following car crash in Edmond
EDMOND, OK – Two teenage girls died and two teenage girls were injured following a car crash that happened on the outskirts of Edmond on Monday.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol told OKCFOX that the collision happened after 8 p.m. on West Charter Oak Road between South May Avenue and South Pennsylvania Avenue. The driver, a 17-year-old girl, had crashed her vehicle into a bridge guardrail and then crashed into a creek bed.
The impact of the collision led two of the passengers to die from their injuries, while another passenger was left in critical condition.
The driver herself is recovering from minor injuries. At this time, troopers have not confirmed what caused the young driver to lose control of her vehicle nor said if she would be facing any charges.
OHP noted that all girls are between 14 to 17 and the two girls who passed away were Deer Creek High School students.
Law enforcement shuts down U.S. 75 in Colbert due to rollover crash
COLBERT, OK – Law enforcement had to shut down U.S. 75’s southbound lanes on Monday due to a rollover crash.
The collision took place near the Oklahoma and Texas border. KTEN showed an overturned white sedan on a grassy median. Another white colored vehicle was beside the sedan, suggesting the two vehicles may have collided.
Authorities did not say if anyone was injured, but did confirm no deaths.
Suspect sought in hit-and-run collision in Moore
MOORE, OK – Moore police are currently searching for at least one suspect in connection with a hit-and-run collision on Tuesday.
KFOR said the suspect, who was driving an SUV, crashed into a Moore police cruiser around 2:45 a.m. The suspect did not remain at the crash and immediately drove away in their vehicle.
Police set up a perimeter around, and drones were activated to aid with the search for the suspect.
