LEXINGTON, OK – Four people were hospitalized following a head-on crash between an Oklahoma Department of Corrections bus and a pickup truck on Tuesday.

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office told KOCO that the events unfolded when the pickup truck driver, traveling east on Highway 39, had veered into the westbound lane and crashed head-on into the transport bus.

The pickup truck was completely mangled, while the white bus had significant front-end damage.

Fox23 said Air Evac Lifeteam was summoned to the scene and airlifted the pickup truck driver to OU Medical Center.

The bus driver, three corrections officers, and 14 inmates were on board the bus. Out of 14, two inmates were transported to a hospital. The rest of the inmates were transported via a separate bus back to the Lexington Assessment and Reception Center.

One inmate and an officer are in stable condition. The second injured inmate was released from the hospital later on Tuesday and taken back to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections facility.

As of this writing, officials did not report any pending charges against the truck driver.

OHP investigates collision involving OHP cruiser, red sports car in Tulsa 

TULSA, OK – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the details behind a collision that involved one of their own police cruisers on Friday, Dec. 5. 

KRMG said the police cruiser collided with a red sports car around 11 a.m. on the Broken Arrow Expressway, near the Peoria Bridge. Preliminary details show that both vehicles were traveling on the eastbound lanes but made their way into the westbound lanes after colliding. 

The force of the collision left at least one person injured and damage to the front of the red Corvette. 

OK-DOT shuts down portion of I-44 in OKC due to traffic crash

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews had to close a portion of I-44 South connecting to eastbound I-240 on Wednesday due to a crash. 

Total Traffic Network’s Oklahoma City division first reported the traffic collision at 8 a.m., saying officials had to block the middle lane. Traffic delays were short and could be seen towards Exit 116 at Southwest 59th Street along Exit 116.

Law enforcement has not specified how the crash unfolded, listed the number of people and vehicles involved, or said whether anyone was injured.

Vehicle accident reported at Route 66 & I-344 connector in Yukon

YUKON, OK – A vehicle accident was reported at the Route 66 and I-344 (also known as the John Kilpatrick Turnpike) connector before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Total Traffic Network’s OKC division has not shared the contributing factors behind the collision or reported any injuries.

No citations or pending charges were listed.

At least 1 injured in traffic collision along OKC’s Baptist Medical Center

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a traffic collision that occurred north of Baptist Medical Center on Wednesday.

The crash happened before 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of Northwest Expressway and Lake Hefner Parkway, according to OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker.

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety has not confirmed how the crash unfolded, specified the extent of injuries sustained, or said if anyone could face charges.

OK DPS summoned to injury traffic accident in Southern Hills 

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the scene of an injury traffic accident in Southern Hills on Wednesday. 

OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker said the collision occurred after 12:45 p.m. on the 7600th block of South Walker Avenue. 

DPS is working to determine how the crash unfolded.
