COLONY, OK – A 48-year-old man was injured after his vehicle overturned and crashed into a fence in Colony on Saturday, KECOFM reports. 

The rollover crash happened after 1:30 p.m. off State Highway 152 and County Road 2430. For reasons unclear, the driver, the 48-year-old man, lost control of his vehicle, drifted off the road, which is what ultimately caused him to crash into the barbed wire fence. 

The driver was identified as a Canute resident and was left with unspecified injuries. 

Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed the driver was the sole occupant of his vehicle. 

Stop sign runner causes two-vehicle collision with injuries near Canton 

NEAR CANTON, OK – A 36-year-old woman was responsible for running a stop sign, which led to a two-vehicle collision with injuries that happened north of Canton on Saturday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KECOFM that the 36-year-old woman ran a stop sign at the intersection of State Highway 51 and State Highway 58. She was going west on the highway, and the other vehicle she collided with was going north on the highway.

The 36-year-old woman, an Enid resident, and one passenger from the vehicle were left with unspecified injuries. The other driver, a 28-year-old woman from Longdale, and her second passenger were uninjured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene after 3:30 p.m. and confirmed everyone wore their seatbelts.

OHP did not say if they cited the 36-year-old woman for running a stop sign.

Man, 55, hurt in rollover crash in Vici

VICI, OK – A 55-year-old man was injured in a rollover crash that occurred in Vici on Saturday, KECOFM said.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the collision happened before 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 60 and 2150 Road.

Preliminary details show that the 55-year-old man was driving east on the highway, and for reasons unclear, drifted to the right side of the road. He overcorrected, which led his trailer to come undone. His vehicle went across several lanes before it crashed and overturned in a ditch.

The 55-year-old man sustained unspecified injuries, while his passengers were uninjured.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the 55-year-old man as a Santa Fe, New Mexico resident. OHP did not say if they cited the man or if he had to go to the hospital.

OK-DOT shuts down I-35 South due to big rig rollover accident 

DAVIS, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Transportation had to shut down the majority of I-35 South for several hours on Tuesday due to a big rig rollover accident.

The big rig crashed and overturned, and spilled cooking oil onto the road, according to KTEN. The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. As of this writing, no lane reopenings were announced.

KOCO said that officials asked drivers to use eastbound State Highway 17A, southbound U.S. 77, and westbound State Highway 7 before getting back on the interstate.

Authorities have not specified how the crash unfolded or whether anyone was injured.

Injuries sustained in traffic crash in OKC’s Glenbrook 

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person sustained injuries in a traffic crash that took place in the Glenbrook neighborhood on Tuesday.

OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker first reported the collision at 1:09 p.m., saying it occurred on the 1100th block of Northwest 56th Street.

The public safety division has not specified the exact cause of the crash, listed the number of people and vehicles involved, or said whether anyone was cited. Updates will be added after our team learns more.

The Village officer hospitalized after motorcycle collision

THE VILLAGE, OK – A local police officer was sent to the hospital following a motorcycle collision that occurred in the Stonegate neighborhood on Tuesday.

The police officer was operating a motorcycle when they collided with an SUV on Hefner Road, according to KOCO. The SUV sustained a broken windshield that appeared to be “caved-in,” and the police officer was left with unspecified injuries.

Upon arrival, EMS crews transported the officer to an emergency room, where they are continuing to recover.

Police and transportation workers stayed behind and shut down Hefner Road near Greystone Avenue for the scene clean-up process.

Oklahoma City police are actively working to determine the exact cause of the crash.
