NEAR DAVENPORT, OK – A motorcyclist was killed as a result of an Interstate 44 crash that happened amid rain near Davenport on Friday, Koco5 said.
The incident unfolded before 4:15 p.m. on the eastbound lanes near mile marker 176. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said rainy weather created slick road conditions, which is what caused the motorcyclist to lose control of his bike and crash into a barrier.
Moments later, he was ejected from his bike and into the westbound lanes, where he was hit by a westbound vehicle.
The motorcyclist, a 41-year-old man from Tulsa, succumbed to his injuries, while the westbound driver was uninjured.
No citations were reported at this time.
Car plows into drainage ditch, sending 2 to hospital in NW OKC
NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Two people had to go to the emergency room after their car crashed into a 20-foot deep drainage area on Sunday, OKCFOX reports.
The Oklahoma City Fire Department determined that two vehicles had first crashed into each other at the intersection of Northwest 35th Street and North May Avenue. The impact of the collision caused one vehicle to then go into the drainage ditch.
The two people inside the vehicle that landed in the ditch were trapped as a result.
Fire crews were able to free the two people from the vehicle in the ditch before EMS crews took them to the hospital.
First responders did not disclose the current physical conditions of the two hospitalized individuals. They also confirmed a third occupant was involved and evaluated for injuries at the scene, although they declined to be taken to a medical care facility for treatment.
Law enforcement has not reported any citations for the involved occupants.
1 killed, 2 injured in two-vehicle collision in Fort Towson
FORT TOWSON, OK – One person was killed and two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Fort Towson on Saturday, according to KXII.
Preliminary details indicate a 69-year-old male driver was turning from Main Street onto U.S. Highway 69 when he was struck on the side by another vehicle.
The 69-year-old man died, while his passenger and the other driver survived.
First responders did not specify the extent of injuries the passenger and the second driver sustained.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is continuing to determine the cause of the crash.
Pedestrian fatally struck by two vehicles in OKC
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A pedestrian died after getting struck by two vehicles on Interstate 235 North on Sunday, News9 said.
The pedestrian-vehicle crash happened around 1 a.m. along Northwest 23rd Street. The impact of the collision led to the pedestrian’s death. He has since been identified as a 49-year-old man, an OKC local.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the two drivers as a 23-year-old woman, also an OKC local, and a 19-year-old woman from Edmond.
OHP has not specified why the 49-year-old man was walking across the interstate prior to the pedestrian-vehicle crash.
A full investigation is underway.
5-year prison sentence given to man following deadly 2024 crash
BIXBY, OK – A man was sentenced to five years of prison on Monday, June 8, 2026, in connection with a deadly 2024 crash that killed his teenage daughter.
The sentence was given after the man pleaded guilty to child neglect, manslaughter, and leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in death, Newson6 said.
The Back Story: The incident happened in January 2024 in the area of 171st Street and Memorial Drive on a rainy day. The man was traveling too fast for road conditions, at 100 mph, and crashed his car after trying to overtake another car.The man’s teenage daughter was thrown from the vehicle and died.
The man’s wife and his two other children survived and were left with unspecified injuries.
The man fled the scene of the collision, went to his parents’ home, and was later arrested by law enforcement in Checotah.
Later in court, the judge accepted most of the terms stated in the plea agreement, except for the two-year judicial review that could have allowed the man to request a reduced sentence.
He must complete 85% of the sentence before being eligible for parole.
DPS called to vehicle accident in OKC’s Capitol Hill area
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the scene of a vehicle accident that took place in the Capitol Hill area on Monday.
According to the OKC Response & Accident Tracker, the crash occurred before 1:30 p.m. on the 2800th block of South Shartel Avenue.
Authorities have not specified the events leading to the crash and have not reported any injuries or citations at this time.
