TULSA, OK – Tulsa Police arrested a man on suspicion of DUI following a collision that happened outside the Riverbend Apartments on Riverbend Apartments on Thursday.

The incident occurred in the area of East 83rd Street South & South Delaware Place, according to KTUL

Police responded to the scene after 9:45 a.m. and said they believe a man, who showed signs of impairment, was driving an SUV and also crashed into a truck. He continued driving, refused to get out of the SUV and struck a truck again.

Police had to use several tactics to try and get the SUV driver to stop, including using pepper spray and then a taser.

Police removed the SUV driver from his vehicle. EMS crews took him to a hospital. Once he was released, police arrested him and booked him into the Tulsa County Jail “on complaints of DUI, driving with a revoked license, resisting an officer, obstruction and operating a vehicle without proof of insurance.”

The suspect later confessed to driving whiskey and taking several drugs before driving. He has not been officially charged.
