NEAR LUTHER, OK – A 35-year-old man from Okemah died as a result of a rear-end collision involving a semi-trailer near Luther on Monday, KOCO reports.

The crash happened on the southbound lanes on the Kickapoo Turnpike. There, the 35-year-old man rear-ended a semi-trailer with his pickup truck.

The impact of the collision caused the pickup truck to go directly under the trailer, and the 35-year-old man succumbed to his injuries.

The semi-trailer driver was uninjured, Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

OHP shut down the turnpike for over six hours for the scene-clean-up process and overall investigation period.

All lanes have since reopened.

OKC PD investigates crash involving their own officer on NW 10th St. 

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City Police is investigating the details behind a crash that involved one of their own officers on Monday, KOCO said. 

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on Northwest 10th Street near Interstate 44. 

No citations were reported. 

Police said no one was injured and is actively working to determine the contributing factors behind the crash. 

OK DPS called to vehicle accident east of Lake Hefner

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety was called to a vehicle accident that happened east of Lake Hefner on Tuesday.

The crash occurred before 11:45 a.m. on the 9300th block of North May Avenue, according to OKC Response & Accident Tracker DPS has not reported any injuries or citations.

The number of people and vehicles involved and the cause of the crash have not been made clear.

OK DOT responds to traffic crash along Lake Overholser

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Transportation responded to the scene of a traffic crash along Lake Overholser on Tuesday.

The collision happened around 8:35 a.m. along Council Road and Northwest 16th Street, according to an X post from Total Traffic Network’s Oklahoma City division.

Officials have not confirmed the number of people and vehicles involved or said whether anyone was injured.
