TULSA, OK – Speed and intoxication are possible factors behind a deadly SUV crash that happened in the South Peoria neighborhood on Monday, Newson6 said.

The incident unfolded after 12:30 a.m. Tulsa Police determined that the driver of a red GMC SUV attempted to pass other vehicles on a double yellow-line road in the area of 61st Street and Peoria Avenue and then crashed into a telephone pole, which ignited sparks.

Police said the SUV driver was traveling at a high rate of speed on a dimly lit road, which reduced their visibility. Police also said alcohol was involved.

The force of the collision left the SUV driver and another SUV passenger pinned. Another SUV passenger was thrown from their vehicle.

Fire crews extricated the pinned driver and passenger from their vehicle. The extricated passenger died from their injuries, while the driver and surviving passenger were sent to a hospital.

Police said all occupants are adults in their 20s and said they are evaluating the driver for intoxication.

Officials did not identify the involved occupants.

A full investigation is underway.

Male driver hospitalized after pickup truck collision in Burneyville

BURNEYVILLE, OK – A male driver was hospitalized after a pickup truck collision on State Highway 76, south of Hull Road, on Monday, KTEN reports.

The impact of the pickup truck collision left the male driver pinned. He was extricated by fire crews and then transported to a hospital in Denton, Texas, via a medical helicopter.

Love County deputies and other officials temporarily shut down the north and southbound lanes to allow for the helicopter to land.

Deputies confirmed the female passenger was uninjured.

No other vehicles or occupants were involved.

At this time, officials did not specify the events that led to the pickup truck collision and have not announced any filed charges or citations for the male driver.

OK-DOT clears vehicle accident on I-35 South in Edmond

EDMOND, OK – Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews cleared the scene of a vehicle accident that happened on Interstate 35 South along Coffee Creek Road on Monday.

KFOR first reported the crash at 6:36 a.m., noting traffic was congested as officials worked to clear debris, remove the impacted vehicle(s), and restore safe road conditions.

Authorities cleared the scene by 7 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash has not been made immediately clear.

Man’s life claimed in rollover motorcycle crash in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – A 51-year-old man was killed in a rollover motorcycle crash outside of the Woodland Shopping Center on Saturday, KTUL reports.

The incident unfolded when the 51-year-old male motorcyclist tried to overtake multiple cars while traveling at a high rate of speed on the eastbound lane. The man lost control of his bike and crashed it.

The bike overturned several times, and the motorcyclist died from his injuries at the scene.

Tulsa police have not provided further commentary on the rollover motorcycle crash and have not reported any other involved occupants.

At least 1 injured in traffic collision near OKC’s Quail Creek Golf & Country Club

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a traffic collision that occurred north of the Quail Creek Golf & Country Club on Monday.

The crash happened before noon at the intersection of eastbound West Memorial Road and North Portland Avenue, according to the OKC Response & Accident Tracker.

Officials have not specified how the collision unfolded, the number of people and vehicles involved, or the extent of injuries sustained.

OK-DOT clears crash on I-35 South in Norman

NORMAN, OK – Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews cleared the scene of a crash on Interstate 35 South at Indian Hills Road on Monday.

Total Traffic Network first reported the crash at 8:50 a.m. and said traffic delays could be seen towards Exit 119th Street at 27th Street. Officials cleared the scene of the crash less than an hour later at 9:25 a.m.

Authorities did not disclose the number of people and vehicles involved, or say if anyone was injured.
