TULSA, OK – Tulsa Police arrested a man following a pursuit-turned-fiery collision on Tuesday, KTUL reports.

Police’s preliminary investigation reveals that the incident unfolded around 12:30 a.m. According to security camera footage, a man and another suspect had reportedly stolen two vehicles and a trailer on the 918th block of Wrecker near 48th and South 35th West Avenue. On Tuesday, a police officer spotted one of the stolen vehicles, a GMC Sierra pickup truck, in the area of 71st and Riverside.

The police officer tried to pull over the suspect driving the stolen GMC Sierra pickup truck, but he did not listen, prompting a pursuit.

The suspect came onto Highway 75 and tried to exit onto I-44, and lost control of the pickup truck. The male suspect crashed into a concrete barrier, which caused the pickup truck to catch on fire.

The suspect, 44, crawled out of the back window.

Police detained the male suspect, and an ambulance transported him to a hospital. The suspect was cleared and then transported to the Tulsa County Jail.

The suspect was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding and may face an additional charge.
