HEALDTON, OK – An 18-year-old man from Fort Stockton, Texas, was arrested in connection with a deadly pedestrian crash that happened in Healdton on Saturday.

The Texas man struck a pedestrian with his vehicle in the area of South 5th Street and Gulf Street, according to KTEN. The Texas man did not render aid and immediately fled the scene.

Healdton police and ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene around 1 a.m. EMS crews rushed the pedestrian, a 25-year-old man, to Healdton Mercy Hospital, where he later died.

Police later located the hit-and-run suspect and detained and arrested him. The driver is facing charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and leaving the scene of an accident.

Suspect booked into jail after pursuit-turned-crash in Ellis Co.

ELLIS COUNTY, OK – A suspect was booked into jail following a pursuit-turned-crash that damaged a semi-truck and several Ellis County deputies’ vehicles on Sunday.

KOCO said the events unfolded around 2 a.m. The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect was driving at 120mph, going from Woodward County and into Ellis County.

Ellis County deputies followed the suspect as they continued driving, traveling through the town of Shattuck before coming onto Highway 283.

The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed into the driver’s side of the semi-truck and the truck’s tires.

The tires crashed into several of the Ellis County deputies’ vehicles, and the suspect’s vehicle drifted off the road before stopping south of the Shattuck Golf Court Clubhouse.

The deputies, semi-truck driver, and the suspect were all spared from serious injuries.

Formal charges have not been filed at this time.

2 lives claimed, SW OKC building damaged in fiery collision

SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Two lives were claimed and a Southwest Oklahoma City building was damaged in a fiery collision that happened on Friday.

Oklahoma City police told KFOR that the incident started around midnight when two vehicles collided into each other at the intersection of Southwest 29th Street and South Western Avenue.

One vehicle then plowed into the El Rancho Western Wear shop and caught on fire. The building got significantly damaged, and the two occupants, a male and a female, inside the vehicle died.

Oklahoma City fire crews have not disclosed the identity of the deceased.

Police started an investigation and are working to determine if speed was a contributing factor behind the deadly collision.

The El Rancho Western Wear Shop had reportedly sustained about $500k in damages and will be closing its store indefinitely for the necessary repairs.

Vehicle plows into stop sign, ditch near Del City

NEAR DEL CITY, OK – A vehicle plowed into a stop sign and then crashed into a ditch, calling for a response from Del City police on Tuesday, KOCO reports.

The collision occurred off the intersection of Northeast Fourth Street and Sunnylane Road.

No injuries were reported, and no ambulance was at the crash scene.

Police have not confirmed the contributing factors behind the collision.

At least 1 injured in multi-vehicle wreck near Midwest City

NEAR MIDWEST CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a multi-vehicle wreck that happened near Midwest City on Tuesday.

KOCO said the crash occurred in the area of Southeast 29th Street and Post Road. The injured person was said to have been treated on site by ambulance crews, but their physical condition remains unknown.

Out of several vehicles, two were towed away.

Police have not confirmed the cause of the collision.

Portion of I-235 blocked in North OKC due to traffic crash

NORTH OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Transportation blocked a portion of I-235 due to a traffic crash on Tuesday.

Total Traffic Network’s Oklahoma City division first reported the collision at 8:05 a.m., saying it happened along exit 3 at Northwest 36th Street.

The closure led to traffic delays on I-44, as crews worked to clean up the debris left behind and remove the impacted vehicle(s).

Officials have not specified how the crash unfolded, mentioned the number of people and vehicles involved, or said whether anyone was injured.
