OWASSO, OK – Owasso police arrested several people following several collisions that involved an alleged DUI driver on Friday, KTUL reports.

The events unfolded after 10:15 p.m. when Owasso police pulled over a driver for a minor traffic violation in the area of the 11700th block of East 76th Street North. Officers found narcotics and said the driver showed signs of impairment.

Amid the investigation, another driver rear-ended the police car, which was then pushed forward and struck the back of the car with the narcotics.

The suspect with the narcotics drove away, traveling on eastbound 76th Street North. Police were able to find the suspect and arrested them for DUI and leaving the scene of a crash.

Male coach, 51, killed in head-on crash in Anadarko

ANADARKO, OK – A 51-year-old male coach was killed in a head-on crash that took place on U.S. 281 around 2 p.m. Sunday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KSWO that one driver was traveling the wrong way and collided head-on with the male coach.

The male coach died from his injuries at the scene. He was a coach for Hinton Public Schools and an Anadarko local.

As of this writing, OHP has not announced any pending charges that were filed against the wrong-way driver.

Grady Co. deputies search for suspect following pursuit-collision 

GRADY COUNTY, OK – Grady County deputies are searching for a suspect in connection to a pursuit-collision that happened on Monday. 

According to News9, Grady County deputies were trying to serve a warrant to the suspect, but that suspect fled the scene, prompting a pursuit. In an attempt to stop the suspect, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper rear-ended the suspect. 

A deputy also used a firearm and aimed at the suspect’s car, but missed. 

The suspect fled and remains at large. The trooper was uninjured in the rear-end crash. 

The suspect is wanted on several warrants, which include arson-related and drug-related charges. 

Crews shut down I-35 South near Purcell due to semi-truck rollover crash

NEAR PURCELL, OK – Transportation crews shut down the majority of I-35 South for several hours due to a semi-truck rollover crash on Tuesday. 

The collision occurred around 4 a.m. and closures immediately began afterwards, KOCO reports. Before 11:30 a.m., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed that all southbound lanes had reopened. 

The exact cause of the crash is under investigation. 

No injuries have been reported. 

Portion of I-35 North in OKC blocked after traffic crash

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A portion of I-35 North was blocked along I-40 due to a Tuesday morning traffic crash.

Total Traffic Network’s Oklahoma City first announced the collision at 8:10 a.m. and said it took place along mile marker 126. Traffic delays could be seen on I-240 as crews worked to clear the scene.

The exact cause of the collision is under investigation.

Officials did not say if anyone was injured or if anyone would face charges. Updates will be posted after our team learns more.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a vehicle collision that occurred in the Lyons Park area on Tuesday.

OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker reported the crash at 12:27 p.m., saying it took place on the 2900th block of North May Avenue.
