OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person’s life was claimed in a crash involving a semi-trailer on I-35 on Thursday, KOCO reports.
The collision took place after 6 p.m. on the interstate’s southbound lanes near Northeast 50th Street. Preliminary details show that a driver was trying to overtake another vehicle by going onto the interstate shoulder. When the driver went onto the shoulder, that’s when they crashed into a parked semi-trailer.
The driver who tried to overtake died, while the truck driver was spared from injuries.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol started an investigation.
Man critically injured in bicycle collision in Midwest City
MIDWEST CITY, OK – A man was left in critical condition as a result of a bicycle collision that occurred in Midwest City on Friday.
OKCFOX said the man was struck by a vehicle while cycling on East Reno Avenue near North Air Depot Boulevard. The crash happened around 5 a.m., and the man was taken to a hospital for treatment of his critical, life-threatening injuries.
Following the collision, officials redirected traffic on eastbound El Reno Avenue between S Bell Drive and N Air Depot Boulevard for the investigation process.
Injuries sustained in vehicle accident near OK State Capitol
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person sustained injuries in a vehicle accident that happened west of the Oklahoma State Capitol on Friday.
Total Traffic Network’s Oklahoma City division first reported the collision at 8:30 a.m., saying it happened at the intersection of eastbound Northwest 23rd Street and Hudson Avenue.

Officials have not specified how the collision unfolded or whether anyone received citations.
Man, 21, receives 5-year prison sentence in connection to deadly collision in Blanchard
BLANCHARD, OK – On Tuesday, a 21-year-old man received a five-year prison sentence in connection with a deadly collision that happened on Highway 76 on June 14, 2024.
According to OKCFOX, on June 14, 2024, the 21-year-old man was driving south on the highway when he lost control of his vehicle, went into the opposite lanes of traffic, and sideswiped one vehicle and crashed into a second car.
The driver of the second car died from her injuries, and one passenger was hospitalized and later released.
A blood test later revealed the 21-year-old man had alcohol and marijuana in his system. Law enforcement arrested him. On Sept. 21, 2024, the jury charged him with involuntary manslaughter, and on June 4, 2025, he pleaded guilty and confessed he drove a vehicle while being impaired.
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, during the hearing, the judge gave the man a five-year prison sentence.
OKs Public Safety summoned to injury traffic accident in John F. Kennedy
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma’s Public Safety division was summoned to an injury traffic accident that happened in the John F. Kennedy neighborhood on Friday.
OKC’s Response & Accident Tracker announced the crash at 12:28 p.m., saying it took place on North Martin Luther King Avenue.
Officials did not specify how the collision unfolded or the extent of injuries that were sustained.
