NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man faces two counts of murder after intentionally causing a head-on collision that killed his wife and another man earlier last month.
News9 confirmed the charges on Tuesday, Sept. 30, and said the collision occurred on Friday, Sept. 12, in the area of East Wilshire Boulevard and North Kelley Avenue.
Preliminary details show that the man, who had his wife inside the car, had physically assaulted her before driving away with her as a passenger. The man was speeding and intentionally swerved into the opposite lane and crashed head-on into another vehicle.
The man’s wife and the male driver inside the other vehicle died from their injuries at the scene.
The man who caused the collision sustained critical, life-threatening injuries and was sent to a hospital. He was released and then transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. He also faces one count of kidnapping.
Records also show that the man was arrested in 2022 in connection with a domestic violence issue involving his wife. That case has since been dismissed.
