OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A person was killed in a fiery motorcycle collision that happened on Interstate 40 West on Wednesday, News9 said.

Emergency Medical Services Authority loaded at least one person into the ambulance and transported them to a hospital.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol later confirmed that a motorcyclist died.

Officials closed the westbound I-40 along Western Avenue for the scene clean-up process and overall crash-related investigation. During the closures, drivers were asked to use Interstate 235 North or Interstate 35 South towards Interstate 240. Closures were said to have lasted several hours.

Medical episode leads to fatal crash that damages NE OKC home

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A medical episode was to blame for a fatal crash that damaged a Northeast Oklahoma City home on Wednesday.

Oklahoma City Police told KOCO that the incident happened before 9 p.m. in the area of Jordan Avenue and Northeast 25th Street. It was there that a female driver suffered a medical episode while driving. As a result, she lost control of her car and crashed into a home.

The woman, the sole occupant of her vehicle, died from her injuries at the scene.

Police did not publicly identify the victim, but said she was potentially in her 50s.

Police did not specify what kind of medical episode the driver experienced.

The home occupants were inside their residence at the time of the collision, but were spared from injuries. Authorities, however, did not say if the home’s structural integrity was compromised, nor did they say if the residents were displaced.

UPDATE: Semi-truck, car involved in crash that killed motorcyclist in OKC 

DOWNTOWN OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A semi-truck and a car were involved in a crash that killed a motorcyclist on Wednesday, according to KFOR. (See first story.)

The force of the collision caused the motorcycle to catch on fire. Two people were injured. At the time of the reporting, those two people were being loaded onto an Emergency Services Medical Authority ambulance.

The motorcyclist later died from their injuries.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol did not specify the specifics of what led to the multi-vehicle crash or say if they cited anyone.

The intersection of westbound Interstate 40 and Western Avenue was shut down for several hours to accommodate the scene clean-up process.
